The Signal Hill Community Foundation’s mission is to initiate positive change for Signal Hill through charitable giving, stewardship, and strategic grantmaking.
With this mission our focus is to:
Encourage charitable giving
Help individuals and families manage their philanthropic giving
Establish endowment funds to benefit local nonprofits and art/cultural events
Make strategic grants to nonprofits and individuals needing assistance

Unity Monument
The first undertaking for the Foundation was the Unity Monument, dedicated in 2002 in memory of the victims of September 11, 2001. The monument is a symbol of our nation’s renewed strength and unity, blending five separate metals to form a sculpture representing our nation’s diversity.
